This video/DVD is unique and presents highly realistic footage of workplace mediation – giving you direct insight in to how the mediator enables people in conflict to move from entrenched antagonism and hurt feelings to mutual communication and solutions.
PMR Ltd has produced this new and powerful informational, promotional and training video of workplace mediation for inter-employee conflicts and complaints. The first of its kind in the UK and worldwide, to show unedited footage of two face-to-face structured workplace mediations – so you can see for yourself each step of the mediation from the beginning introduction all the way through to the win/win agreements at the end.
An invaluable resource for organisations and individuals of all kinds: senior decision makers, anyone managing staff or customers, human resource personnel, counsellors, diversity or equal opportunity officers, those training to be workplace mediators, consultants and trainers and many more.
The video is made up of 3 parts:
PART 1. AN EXPLANATION OF WORKPLACE MEDIATION
with graphics
- what workplace mediation is
- its definition and main principles
- how it differs from other dispute resolution methods
- the six step structure of workplace mediation
- how it can be used effectively within the workplace
PART 2. A MEDIATION FOR A BULLYING COMPLAINT AGAINST A MANAGER
with the six steps of mediation highlighted in moving text form throughout the mediation
This mediation is about a female member of staff named Wendy and her line manager Mark. Wendy feels that Mark has been bullying her through ‘put down’ comments at meetings, lack of adequate supervision and being overly critical of her in front of colleagues. The face-to-face mediation meeting between them will show you their discussions and poignant exchange of feelings and perspectives, right through to their solutions and strategies for future improvements.
PART 3. A MEDIATION BETWEEN TWO COLLEAGUES WHO ARE HAVING DIFFICULTIES SHARING AN OFFICE TOGETHER
with the six steps of mediation highlighted in moving text form throughout the mediation
This mediation is between Dolores and Pari who have been having difficulties in sharing an office and sharing the workload. The lack of communication and the animosity between them had built up into a break down in the working relationship….to a point where they were no longer talking to each other.
Similar to the first mediation, this uninterrupted footage of a ‘whole mediation’ gives you a unique insight into how the mediator skilfully facilitates communication and the exchange of feelings, encouraging them to clarify and prioritise the underlying issues and to come up with a number of agreements that will improve their working relationship in the future.
